Basic Piano Tuning & Repair Certificate Program
Our beginner program is designed to provide an immersive learning experience that spans the course of a year. Over four distinct weeks, participants will come to The Center and dedicate five full days to hands-on learning and one-on-one mentorship with our expert instructors. After the successful completion of the course, students are eligible to receive a Certificate in Basic Piano Tuning & Repair.

Workshop FAQs
Where are workshops held?
Workshops take place at our facilities in Newark, NJ and at partner locations in the NY/NJ area, including piano showrooms, music schools, restorations shops, and other piano institutions. Specific details will be provided prior to the class.
How long are workshops?
Workshops run Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm. Check each workshop page for dates and details.
How many students/instructors are in each workshop?
To make sure each student receives plenty of one-on-one time, workshops include at least two instructors and are limited to no more than four students.
I’ve been a professional tuner for years. Why should I transition from machine tuning to 100% aural tuning?
In our view, mastering the art of aural tuning will meaningfully change your entire approach to piano work. Aural tuning puts you firmly in the realm of sound–heightening your sensitivity to the subtle nuances of piano tone. If you aspire to high-level voicing and concert service, we believe aural tuning is the gateway.
I’m a beginner piano tuner. Should I attend the Aural Tuning Workshop?
Probably not. The Aural Tuning Workshop is intended for full-time piano technicians who have have been tuning for at least 2-years. We recommend you check out our Beginner Workshops.
